I made these prints near the time the images were captured. They're unique. It's unlikely that I'll ever make darkroom prints again, and there's no way to go back in time and make more vintage prints!
Very few of these images were ever printed or released. There were work prints and reproduction prints made for the magazine, but they were RC prints, not fiber, probably not by me, and not nearly as collectable.
The images were made for Sports Illustrated in the winter of 1991. The story ran in the Olympic preview issue of 1992. My wife and I moved to Montana at about the same time.
There is some drying and/or handling marks on some of the white borders. One print looks like it has drying ripples on the actual image (as shown in the image below). The white marks on the detail shot from the sweat lodge is not on the actual print
